Google Hangouts is a great alternative to Skype/Facetime, especially so because you can easily log in using your school email (ending in @theswede.me). This is a great tool for collaborating and studying with your peers. To set up Google Hangouts please follow the instructions below.

  1. Go to the App Store and download “Google Hangouts”
  2. Open Hangouts and tap “Get Started”
  3. Sign in using your Swedish Institute email credentials
  4. After you sign in successfully, if you look at the bottom you can see options for a chat room or to call somebody.
  5. Add the emails of whoever you want to invite to a group chat, and once in the chat, you can choose to start a video call.
